Savannah and Bubba

This past Sunday, I had a blast shooting Savannah and Bubba. Savannah was not really in the mood to pose for pictures so we had to coax her a bit. Who could blame her? It was a beautiful spring morning and the grass was so inviting! Bubba is Savanah’s foster brother. I’ve never seen a happier dog…and he is available for adoption! If you’re interested, post a comment on the page and I will put you in touch with his foster mamma.

Don’t forget, this Saturday is the Collingswood May Fair on Haddon Avenue. If you’re in the neighborhood, stop by and say hi.

The Beauty of Barnegat Light, NJ

Now that the Lilo’s Promise Animal Rescue Art Auction was a HUGE success, life is getting back to a normal pace.  I took the afternoon off yesterday to spend it with my camera and my good friend April in Barnegat Lighthouse State Park.  The weather is really starting to warm up here and we couldn’t have asked for a better day! I love the “shore” as we here in New Jersey call it.  I’m looking forward to spending a lot of time there this summer.  The show schedule is starting to shape up, check out the tab to the left of this post if you are interested in checking any of them out.  Hope to see you at the first show this year, the Collingswood May Fair. Thanks for stopping by the site!

The “Seniors” of AAC

During a recent visit to the Animal Adoption Center with the “Shelter Girls” I had the chance to visit the new and improved community cat room and meet some of the “seniors” of AAC.

Oftentimes, these cats are overlooked at the shelter when folks are considering adoption.  Let’s face it, when you adopt an older cat, you don’t expect that they will be around as long as you would like.  Yet, these cats deserve a loving home as much as the younger ones.

The cats that I met at AAC were all very affectionate.  Magic (the black kitty at the bottom of this post), for instance was difficult to photograph because every time I sat on the floor to take his picture, he came sauntering over for some affection.  Pretty Boy is as curious as a kitten and extremely sociable (the tabby with the amazing eyes).

There are benefits to adopting senior kitties.  For instance, they won’t be climbing your curtains or attacking your bare feet as you shuffle out of bed in the morning.  With a senior cat, their personality is already formed (what you see is what you get) and they are more likely to be litter trained.  They are a good choice for a senior citizen looking for a furry companion or someone who doesn’t have the time or patience to invest in a kitten.

Please consider adopting one of the senior cats (or dogs) from AAC.  They deserve to live out their twilight years in a loving, secure home and they will be especially grateful to be out of the shelter!

Don’t forget to get your complimentary ticket to Lilo’s Promise 2nd Annual Artistic Expressions Art Auction on April 14!

A Day in NYC

Happy Tuesday everyone!  I hopped on the train yesterday to meet my friend Cyd (another fellow photog) in the city.  We had a great time walking around with our cameras, stopping for a beer every now and then.  I left the 85mm f1.8 on the whole time.  Some folks were kind enough to give permission to take pictures of them…some didn’t notice.    Here is some street photography, just to prove I’m not a one-trick pony.
